Are Airport responsible for lost items?
-
Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is not responsible for lost items. Here's how responsibility is handled:
🧳 Responsibility Guidelines
In the Terminal/Airport Premises
If you lose an item within the terminal (e.g., security, lounges, shops, toilets), it may be handed over to the CPH Lost & Found team.
However, the airport is not liable for your personal property. Their role is limited to helping you retrieve items if found and turned in.
Onboard the Aircraft
Items left on planes are not the responsibility of the airport.
You must contact your airline directly or the Copenhagen Police Lost Property Office if the airline forwards items there.
Unregistered Items
Certain items (e.g., clothes, umbrellas, glasses) are not registered by CPH Lost & Found, and they may not attempt to track or store them.
Police Custody
After 3 days at CPH Lost & Found, items are often transferred to the Copenhagen Police Lost Property Office, which then handles claims.
